gvm1228
Hello everyone, I have a question with regards to playing a Roland V drum set up. I want to play a v drum kit instead of programming to achieve a live feel. Can anyone help with how I can trigger logic sounds with the V drum kit. Thanks in advance. David Nahmani
The first step is to select and R-enable the track hosting DMD or DKD, connect the V-Drums to the Mac, and play the V-Drums. See what results you get?
gvm1228
Thank you David, Worked Beautifully. Now that we have that working it seems SoCal is my drummers favorite kit, However, it seems our Mid Tom and Low Tom are Identical in pitch. We have found other drums with a 3 Tom configuration, but they are not the kit we are looking for. If we tune one Tom the other follows. Thanks in Advance. David Nahmani
If we tune one Tom the other follows. Select the desired Tom tab? There should be three tabs to tune the Toms individually:
gvm1228
Yes, I have tried that however If i tune the low tom, the mid tom changes with it as well and Vice a versa.
skijumptoes
Are you sure your V drums are mapping to the separate toms? Press the toms with your mouse click to audition them, and see if they correlate with your v drums. If they differ (as the toms should) all ok in the drum designer screen, you may need to insert Midi FX 'Scripter' and pick the Remap drum designer to V drums preset to map the correct toms. If that works, you can save that entire channel strip as a preset for future selection, ready to go with the scripter inline. If that fails, then try recording each drum hit, and check in the piano roll that your v drums are set up correctly and each tom is going to different notes. It could be you have as strange preset setup on the V Drums brain.
