jeffloven
I successfully created a new tempo map that plays along with an audio file within a midi file project that I'm trying to sync to the original hit song. But now that I've edited the tempo the midi is all off grid and unuseable. not sure why this is..?...
fusbur
In LP 9 you need to check the 'protect MIDI' box but not sure if that's different in X.

jeffloven
oops-I had one glitch. i realized that the midi file is missing to beats on a ritard. I undid the beats from region to go in and edit my beat track and pull 2 beats out to fix it-when I did this it went all wonly. Strangely, when I apply the beats to region and the midi does not sync-I try to undo this to try again and what happens is my original beat track that I tapped in to sync with the audio no longer plays in sync with audio even after I undid the previous command when it did play in sync. It would seem that if I undo (undid) the beats to region maneuver that I would simply be back to where I was with my tapped in midi synced up with the audio but alas-the tapped in beat is way off. I was able to save right before I did this so if I close-don't save changes-I at least am back to my tapped in beat being in sync and am trying over to get it to work as i almost did before. David Nahmani
When beat mapping I always work from left to right, or risk creating havoc... that's the nature of the beast. If I detect a mistake at some point, most of the time the best way to correct the mistake is to delete all mappings and tempo changes to the right of that point, and re-start the beat map process from that point on. always from left to right.
