Artlowell
Since I updated my Logic Pro, I've noticed something new. trying to bounce a region to an audio track, the playhead goes immediately to the beginning of the region and just stay there. I went to close Logic once, and instead of quitting, the Audio bip file immediately appeared. That's all I know, except that while the playhead sits there, it will not move anywhere else. Not to the beginning or anywhere else. It seems to be stuck.
Artlowell
More. The computer does not respond to command-Q, but it does quit when I click on "Quit Logic Pro X" in the Logic Pro X menu.
Artlowell
I shut down Logic, waitd awhile and booted back up. Tried it again. This time, nothing happened, as before. Then, after about 30 seconds, a progress bar appeared. "Bouncing Regions". The playhead moved some and is now stuck there. Had to force quit it, as "Quit Logic Pro" is grayed out in the Logic menu. triplets
Are you saving all your projects on the internal drive? If yes, how much space left on it out of how big a drive?
Artlowell
Capacity is 525 Gb. Availability is 191 Gb. I just had my mechanical HD replaced with n SSD. I haven't run into any problems saving backups. I have a 1 TB external drive that I can use, if necessary. This is acting like it gets stuck in a loop. So far, I've been able to revert to backups that function properly. The only problem comes when I try to bounce in place.
Artlowell
There has to be something wrong with this project. When I booted up this morning, no sound at all came from the project. I went back to a backup 10 versions back. No sound. I pulled up another old project. Worked fine. Went back to this project. After a few minutes, I have only a progress bar that says it's loading, and it just sits there. That looks like a software problem to me. The only option I can think of, assuming I can somehow get the project loaded, is to rebuild the project anew, and export all the regions from this project, then import them onto the new project. Any other suggestions?
Artlowell
OK, so I rebooted the project directly from the hard drive. It just as it should be. I'm assuming that I just won't be able to do a "bounce in place". That's what seems to have caused all the trouble.
Artlowell
Tried something different. I did a normal bounce or the region I wanted and imported back in as a normal audio file. It was perfect. Could it be that my Logic is OK with bouncing to a wav file, but not to an aiff?
Artlowell
I also noticed something else. There are notes that have dropped out in those regions. They were all there in the bounce. Maybe my audio engine?
Artlowell
I discovered something else. Logic no longer gives the option of bouncing to wav. Command-I says only that that bounced file is "Waveform audio". What kind of file is that? Could that be important to know?
triplets
Are you on the latest Logic version? What OSX version?
Artlowell
I think so. I just updated to 10.3.1 That's when this problem showed up.
Artlowell
I also recently updated my OS to 10.12.5. I'm also having problems with Facebook, but that's been going on for a while. Probably not connected.
triplets
I see and hear more issues with Logic on 10.12 (Sierra) than 10.11 (El Capitan). El Capitan and 10.3.1 is very solid.
Trucknoise
@Artlowell i know I’m a bit late to the party but did you ever find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem and it’s driving me crazy
