David Nahmani
Finally! Apple released a new Magic Extended Keyboard with Numeric Keypad! https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MQ052LL/A/magic-keyboard-with-numeric-keypad-us-english
noisenet
While this is cool and all (although I still don't understand why this is just now happening) I was really hoping for an updated Magic KB with Touchbar ala MacBook Pro and perhaps some e-ink key stuff happening. *sigh*
anp27
I am more interested in the wireless keyboard from the iMac Pro pictures.. it kinda looks like the keyboard from the Macbook Pro line. It would be interesting to have a new external keyboard with a Touchbar... kinda makes sense for them to do that actually.
David Nahmani
Good point anp27. It's odd that they did not include the touch bar.
des99
Is it backlit? If so, we get a: - *Finally* and a -"Yes!!* followd by a "Want. Now." Edit: Looks like still no backlight. how the heck are we supposed to hit the correct keys in low light conditions? This is *exactly* why laptops have backlit keys... I know there are power considerations, but chuck another two AA's slots in there, an make it optional for those who don't care. I can't (fully) switch to an external keyboard until it's backlit... schlomojorgensen
That new apple keyboard sucks, I use one from 1989 with real ALPS switches. Now that's a keyboard.

Love working in low light, so a backlit keyboard is the obvious choice, but, I gave up waiting for Apple to bring one to market long ago (without a laptop attached!) so went with this Logitech Bluetooth kb instead:
mdee
I saw the new Keyboard on Appleinsider this morning and immediately ordered one! I've been using the Magic Mouse 2 for a while and do not miss charging batteries! Should arrive on Friday.
