Iggyfog
Hi I seem to continually have issues with recording audio using a bus as an input. Essentially what I want to do is the following: I have an audio track lets call it dry percussion. i have put a bus on the audio track and on the send i have put Native instruments guitar fx on the bus (say bus 1) i then create a new audio track with input enabled and recording enabled. I then set the input of the new audio track as bus 1 So when I click on record in theory I should record the the output of the percussion through the send into the audio. However i don't and all i get is the dry percussion. So am i missing something here? Thanks for all your help as always!
fusbur
You're bringing up the send pot on the original track, right?
David Nahmani
If you inserted your plug-in on an Aux channel strip that has its input set to Bus 1, then set that Aux channel strip's output to Bus 2 and record Bus 2 onto your audio track. However, why use a send at all? If you want serial processing (the plug-in processes 100% of the guitar signal) then insert the plug-in on the guitar's channel strip, set that channel strip's output to Bus 1, and record Bus 1. If you're doing parallel processing then send from the guitar channel strip to bus 1 and insert the plug-in on the Aux that receives bus 1 as you did, but then set the output of BOTH the Aux and the guitar channel strip to Bus 2 and record Bus 2.
