Ben2112monkey
Hi All, I wondering if there is a simple answer to this question above. My set up is Motu MK2 to Logic Pro X with Mackie Speakers. Surely there is a way to mute the speakers automaticly when you hit record on the vocal track in logic. Hope there is a tech genius out there that can help. Many Thanks Ben
Eriksimon
The solution: record with headphones on. Only use your monitors in the mixing phase.
mdee
Have you tried muting thru Motu's CueMix software?
shivermetimbers
There is a tech genius way but it is oh so convoluted. What I am implying is that you are overcomplicating a process that need not be over complicated. The easiest way is to turn the volume output knob on you audio interface all the way down while recording with a mic.
dougb256
Unless I am missing something - perhaps you're not near the MK2? - the easiest way is to turn down the volume knob on the MK2, which is located above the headphone jack. The next would be to find out if the Cuemix software allows key commands, and then execute that particular command before you hit 'Record'. Ben2112monkey
Thank you for everyone's reply Yes the headphone volume button also controls the monitor volume. Thank you!
Atlas007
Perhaps, this General Audio preference could also be useful: “Independent monitoring level for record-enabled channel strips” checkbox: Allows the use of an independent monitoring level for record-enabled audio channel strips. This is off by default. After record-enabling a track, you can adjust the fader to the level you like. The original level will be restored when you deselect the Record Enable button.Note: Adjustments to the fader do not affect the recording level; they only affect the monitoring level.
