nikoli
Hi, I have 3 vocal tracks that I am sending to an aux bus. I would like to send the output of that aux bus back to a software instrument track (which is a vocoder). Is this even possible? Is there a better way to go about this? Ploki
Yes, via "sidechain" input on the vocoder. You select the "bus" that your 3 tracks are being sent to

It doesn't seem like it's doing anything... like no audio is being sent to the vocoder track. The meter never moves. W The 3 tracks go to Bus 6. The vocoder side chain is set to Bus 6. Seems like it should be working but nothing is happening :-\
Ploki
which vocoder are you using? you need to do two things with most of them to get sound: - press a midi note on the vocoder strip - enable vocoder to use side chain as source

fusbur
As far as I remember, the Logic vocoder doesn't work like that in real time? You have to have the track playing - correct me if I'm wrong anybody ...
nikoli
I think the mystery is solved. Ploki was right... I had to have a midi not drawn. After I did that, I still wasn't hearing anything. I found that I also had to 1. Choose a vocal preset in the Evoc, and 2. Turn the level way up on the Evoc to hear the effect. After that it's working pretty darn good!
