Kaatza Music
I installed the Logic update and since then, I have been getting a lot of spinning wheels. They last for 5 - 10 seconds. They go away, but it is really annoying having to wait nearly every time I click on something. Sometimes, they will subside and go away for a while. Any idea what might be causing them? triplets
Could be VEP. Does it happen with without the slave connected?
Kaatza Music
It happens without VEP being used. The slave is not connected.
Kaatza Music
This is driving me crazy! Does anyone have the previous version of Logic?
triplets
Did you try a restart?
des99
This is driving me crazy! Does anyone have the previous version of Logic? Sure, because the standard procedure before updating is to rename the current LPX application to, eg "Logic Pro X 10.3.1", then install the new version, so you have both and can easily choose which to run if something unexpected happens with the new one. If you didn't do this, then you'll just need to retrieve the earlier LPX application bundle from your system backups.
Presence
Right click on app, duplicate then rename. Just saying in case someone does not know.
Kaatza Music
I reinstalled 10.3.1, same problem now. Logic has become unusable. I will contact Apple.
fatherom
I'm having the exact same problem. Please post here if you find a solution. I'm going to contact Apple tomorrow as well. I updated to 10.3.2 last week but I'm just setting up my new system and have made some other changes too. Something is really wrong. Logic is unusable at this point. fatherom
I narrowed down my issue to something going on with Control Surfaces. Kaatza Music, if you "Bypass All Control Surfaces" does your lag and spinning wheels go away? Because that does the trick for me. I need to start diagnosing what is going on with my MIDI controller (hopefully it's not the USB port on the mac itself!)
fatherom
I think, in my case, it's my Nektar Impact LX88+ controller causing the issue: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=131603&p=672046&hilit=nektar#p671527
Kaatza Music
I spent an hour with an Apple Pro Audio App tech yesterday and I believe we fixed it.

Kaatza Music
Logic Pro X > Preferences > Reset All Preferences Except Key Commands HD > Library > Preferences Deleted 2 files. Sorry I should have written down what they were. They were both apple.logic files.
