Playhead disappears in Audio Editor

I have the Arrange window and Audio Editor open. When I hit play, the playhead appears and advances in both windows. When I hit stop, the playhead in the Arrange window stops as normal but the playhead in the Audio Editor disappears. In other words, I can only see the playhead in the Audio Editor while it is playing. I have Catch Playhead enabled in both windows. I've restarted Logic numerous times.

 

I've seen this work properly before, so I know it's possible but I'm wondering if there is some toggle I've inadvertently disabled.  Any ideas?

Not sure if it could be relevant, does your audio editor zoomed at fairly the same level than the main one, and are your windows linked?

Thanks for the reply. I've tried different zoom levels but that doesn't affect the problem. I can tell that I'm looking at the right part of the track because the playhead does appear while it's playing. As far as linked windows goes, I don't see any Link button or Link menu option for the Audio editor as you have in the Piano roll.

Additional Information:  

I've discovered some additional details about the problem. Firstly, if I have the Audio editor in Track mode rather than File mode, the playhead appears and works normally. It doesn't matter if I switch back and forth, it always works in Track mode and never works in File mode. Second, I've been accessing the Audio editor by double-clicking on an audio track, but if I open a separate editor window using the Window menu, the playhead behaves normally.

Are you still in 10.3.1 or 10.3.2?

Yes, still in 10.3.1

Could be a bug in 10.3.1 – it works as expected here in 10.3.2. You could always keep 10.3.1 (duplicate the app and rename it for example Logic Pro X 10.3.1 then update Logic Pro X to 10.3.2) and see if 10.3.2 solves that issue for you.
