Assign rotary knobs and buttons

Hello fellow musicians. How do I assign the rotary knobs and buttons of my Behringer UMX610 so I can control all soft synths + effects in Logic Pro 10.3.2?

If I may add to this superb tutorial, once the Smart Controller & MIDI Controller assignments completed as explained, it would be a good idea to save the currently virtual instrument setup as a Patche, in order to retrieve those controller assignments already made when loading that patch preset again. Otherwise, those assignments will be lost. Alternately, saving the project should also preserve the Smart Control assignment. However the patche approach eases its availability in other projects.
