Recording at faster speeds in Logic Pro X

I have an outro to a song that I want to overdub parts but I want to record these parts at a higher speed and then play them back normal so they sound slow, down tuned and noisy. It’s just for an effect. Any way to do this in Logic? Should I use Varispeed to speed up the entire session and record it that way then adjust everything back to normal tempo? Thanks in advance for the help!

I just finally got to test this out and although I increased the varispeed by 100% the track still recorded in normal time. Are there any other settings I may have missed?

100% won't change anything.

You have to go like 110% or higher.

The entire session speed up tremendously at 100% so I figured I'd be recording at high speed too. Instead it recorded at normal speed. There must be another way to do high speed recording so when you play it back it will be super slow and down tuned.
