Multiple USB Midi inputs ?

Hi,

I'm just researching getting into using a DAW. My questions is: Can I have two or more midi device usb cables going durect into my laptop and connect them both to logic as separate tracks. So a midi keyboard and a digital midi drum kit each on its own usb cable. i.e I don't need an additional mixer/audio interface before getting into Logic do I ?

Hi,

 

No, you don't need an audio interface if your goal is to get MIDI from a keyboard and a MIDI drum kit into Logic.

 

However, you need to be aware that in order to record each device's data into their own track, you need to follow this procedure:
