Latency Question - Mac Pro vs MBP

I have been testing a couple of interfaces for latency on a Mac Pro and MBP and got the following results, I wondered if anyone on here could explain why this might be? The Apollo has less latency on both of the MBPs yet HD native is 3x worse. All on 32 samples buffer size at 44.1KHz. All using Thunderbolt 2 (2017 MBP using TB2 to USBC adapter).

On Mac Pro (12-core, Trash Can, 32GB RAM) 10.12 Sierra.

Apollo 16 TB

9.6 ms Roundtrip (2.1ms Output)

HD Native (via Thunderbolt 2 Chassis)

4.4 ms Roundtrip (2.2ms Output)

On Macback Pro (4-core, 2012, 16GB RAM) 10.12 Sierra. (Also exact same result on 2017 MBP)

Apollo 16 TB

6.6 ms Roundtrip (1.5ms Output)

HD Native (via Thunderbolt 2 Chassis)

13.1 ms Roundtrip (6.5ms Output)
