Cinematic Drums - Logic

Hello all,

Are there any cinematic drum samples available in Logic. (You know, the typical unison cinematic percussion samples)

The only one I've found is Actions Drums in Alchemy.

If not, does anybody know any free samples (or cheap) that do not require Kontakt, as I do not own it and currently work with EXS24.

Kind Regards,

Marcus

I noticed the EXS24 has some Taiko Drums.

These are the free libraries I have found that I think are worth sharing. There are also free loops out there, that you could cut up if you felt like it, however I was looking purely for samples.

Currently I going back through the many kits in EXS and plucking out the samples that I like. I try to combine 2 together, one that has more body, and another that has more attack.

I'm then processing them with Logic Enveloper to create a bigger impact by increasing the attack. In some cases, reducing the release, makes the attack sound bigger.

If I have time, I'll put together some samples to share.

I think I found my sample library - $40 - and uses the FREE Kontakt Player

Sound Iron - Apocalypse Percussion Micro

It has three variations, the micro being 300 mb of samples :) which is great because I have no disc space left..

(The full version is 24 gb)

It might also be worth taking a look a Splice.

For a monthly subscription (which you can cancel at any time), you have access to a large selection of samples, there’s a sizeable amount of cinematic sound in there which I’ve used. There are several plans with increasing ‘credits’ to download sounds.

I thought Spice was aimed at producers / beat makers? It's a good deal though. Although the cost adds up so I think I'll go with the Sound Iron library for now. I also like the idea of the East West subscription for the future.

I thought the same, but there are quite a few percussion/SFX sample packs in there from the trailer music producers, so it can be quite a saving. I find I only use around 25% of samples in a pack anyway, so being able to pick and choose was much more costs effective.

They offer a free trial, so you could always have a dig around and see if there is anything you want in there.

If you're all set for now, thats cool, just thought I'd let you know!

Music Radar has a link for 1000 drum samples here too.

Thanks, do you know if REX is supported by EXS or Alchemy?

That link has WAV files for single hits and the REX are for loops.

If you want to import the REX into your Logic Pro X project, here's a link how to do that from Apple Support
