bounce region picks wrong start and end point

As you can see by the screen shot, I have a region selected. But when I select bounce cmd-b, it picks a seemingly random measure range to bounce. What am I doing wrong? It used to pick the region range automatically. Thanks in advance. Screen Shot 2018-09-14 at 9.16.29 PM.png

I used to get that problem too ronwass, even when typing in the start and end points, now I just do as triplets says, create a cycle range, make sure it set a bit later than the audio regions end to include any tails of reverb or whatever.
