Finding chords for a melody

I audio-to-midi a bass from a Tony Franklin library I bought.

Then in order to play it properly with Rickenbacker Bass, I just made some adjustments to the MIDI.

Then after that, I harmonized it to A Minor.

 

 

Uhh, that tune is in D minor, not A minor…

My starting point was the melody that Gracie played in her video from above.

 

I just summed the notes to see that the melody fell into several scale/keys

When I heard the melody and that she sung over the notes, I decided to give it a jazzy feel.

So I picked Eight Tone Spanish in the key of B and constructed chords from that scale/key.

Those 5 chords I'm using are played across 4 bars for the length of the demo.

Then I just did a improvise with piano and muted trumpet.
