Took the plunge and purchased Logic yesterday: got a question about preferences :)

Apple's generous 90-day trial and the community here has me convinced

 

I went ahead and purchased Logic yesterday (60 days early) and am eagerly awaiting my activation email. Apparently I will need to download and reinstall the new version and this is where my question comes in:

 

I've made substantial preference and key command changes. Will these be preserved when I reinstall the full version? Ableton indeed preserves all preferences but I want to double check before assuming anything. If not, what's the recommended procedure for backing them up?

Yes, your preferences will be preserved, but you can back them up to be extra sure you're covered, if you like.

 

You just need to copy the files:-

 

/Users/*you*/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist

and

/Users/*you*/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs

 

...and keep them safe.

 

Activation email?

Surely you just buy LPX on the AppStore, and download it straight away..?
