JoshJ
Relative Volume has automation at 0db. Absolute volume has no automation on its lane. The mixer fader for this track is saying -6 and when I move it the value doesn’t change and it snaps back to its original positions. Can anyone figure out what’s going on here? David Nahmani
I can verify this behavior both in 10.4.8 and 10.5.1. However you're not supposed to use it that way, you're supposed to use the Relative automation lane as a secondary automation lane for an existing Volume automation curve. What are you trying to do? JoshJ
Are you saying It sounds like a bug? I want to create automation but still be able to make relative adjustments to my mixer faders (without having to stick a Gain plugin on every channel). Is there any better workaround for this? In my opinion the faders should be the Relative volume so you can automate the Absolute without it affecting the faders
David Nahmani
Are you saying It sounds like a bug? No, it sounds like you're not using the feature the way it was intended to be used. Normally you: 1. Start with volume automation. 2. Once you have a volume automation curve, use Relative volume automation to record a secondary volume automation curve. JoshJ
I understand. But most of the time it works just fine..
