How to create pitch drop/screaming acid in ES2

Hi Everyone!

I was listening to Daft Punk’s Giorgio by Moroder and from around 7:50 there’s a screaming and pitch dropping sound (I think it’s sidechained to the snare, not important for me though). How would you recreate this in Logic, preferably in ES2?

I would first recreate the pitch drop with an envelope routed to the pitch. Then create the performance which is a repeated note in a rhythmic pattern with the pitch bend wheel slowly going up. And lastly try to get the sound right with the right oscillators, distortion effects etc.

So I got the pitch drop rising, but not quite the "screaming" sound. What'd be your settings with the osc/dist etc?

Ok I'm not proud of the result so any inputs would be appreciated. Although it sounds a bit better when I use Izotope Trash, but the attached file is without Trash or any other plugins, just ES2. I found it better to use LFO1 as a source for the pitch drop. And I used pitch bender automation for the rising effect.

Sure! It took a while because the track was part of a big project, now it's soloed out.
