LPX won't recognize keyboard

I know this topic has been posted MANY times (I've looked through a lot of them already), but my problem still persists. I finally got Snoize's MIDI monitor, and it's telling me that it recognizes my keyboard's pitch bend and modulation control knobs, but not the actual key presses. I'm using a MIDI to USB cable, and it's an M-Audio Keystation 49e keyboard. I'll try to provide any additional relevant details, if requested, but I'm new to Mac (OS 10.13.6), Logic Pro X, and playing the keyboard in general, hahaha. I know, shoot me now. Thanks for any and all time and effort in trying to get me straightened out, I really appreciate it!

Snoize is telling you that the note messages aren’t getting to the computer. I’d suggest looking through the keystations manual see if you’ve missed anything there and/or trying another MIDI to USB cable. Given many of those cables aren’t very reliable is it possible for you to try it with another MIDI interface?

rAC is right. You probably have one of those infamous USB-MIDI Cables from under 10 dollareuropounds, that are known to malfunction in some cases because of a coding error on the chip. Get a better one by a reputable maker (get it from a music store, not Wish or Ebay or Alibaba).

Until I get out to purchase a legit MIDI-to-USB cable, I tried plugging in just the regular USB cable that I used to use just fine. I ran it through Snoize and got the same results, pitch bend and modulation, but no note messages. If anyone has a suggested brand of cable to buy, I'm all ears.

What gets me is that when I got it a few days ago, I plugged it in and everything worked fine. I had to swap monitors for work-related reasons, and when I came back to try and practice, that's when the issues started popping up. Nothing changed with the keyboard setup at all, so I don't know what's causing the errors now.
