rhythmatician
Hi everyone, I'm trying to record using bluetooth headphones, which causes round-trip latency of 197ms. That's a lot, I know, but I'm fine with that as long as I don't have to manually move my tracks by 197ms. The problem, however, is that logic can only compensate up to 5000 samples, which is nowhere near 197ms at the sample rate I'm using. Any suggestions? Atlas007
Avoid using BlueTooth headphones for mixing. AFAIK, those kind of headphones are only useful when listening to music.
rhythmatician
For mixing, I agree. For tracking however, I absolutely can't stand the cables getting tangled up, and when I'm pissed off I can't record good music. Do you have anything helpful to say? Solution rhythmatician Posted July 4, 2020 Author Solution Share Posted July 4, 2020 I found a workaround I'm happy with. I set the recording delay so that everything records exactly 1/8th note later than its meant to be, and set my nudge value to 1/8th note so all I have to do is nudge new tracks once to get them in the right place. Dewdman42
Where did you get information that logic can only compensate 5000 samples? I find that hard to believe
triplets
Probably deducing from the recording delay slider that goes -5000 samples.
Dewdman42
The recording delay has nothing to do with plugin delay compensation and should not construed to mean pdc is limited to roughly 100ms of latency correction. That is simply not true. Something else is going on if the correction isn’t happening according to the op’s understanding
Dewdman42
Never mind what I said, nobody said anything about plugins. So basically it sounds to me that the Bluetooth headphones are not reporting their latency properly in their driver. That’s why he has to use the slider and now I understand his comment better. Sorry for mistaking the obvious.
Dewdman42
You MIGHT get something to work by using expert sleepers latency fixer plugin. They will report plugin latency without adding any actual delay, which might also move the record offset Earlier. It’s worth a try. It’s free. They also have an intriguing legacy plugin named Clocker which is sadly not compatible with (current) Mac OSX...
