Assigning to both Modulation/Expression Simultaneously

Okay, so I'm on the cusp of figuring this out. My expression pedal is already assigned to expression (obviously).

 

I tried setting up a transformer to map modulation in addition to expression when using the pedal, but then it removes the expression. I want both...

 

What am I doing wrong here?

 

p.s. i found only one other post on this exact topic, but it was a little to vague for a novice like me. Thanks in advance for your help!

Make sure you select the right mode for the transformer:

If it's a software instrument track you could instead use the Modifier midi fx for this, with these settings:
