Thedukewood
Hi - I am not sure if I am going crazy, it supposed to be this way or have a setting wrong: I can record midi into the song fine and it plays back however if I come to record in an empty part of the same track or try to use drop in the minute I go to record it greys out the whole track and I can't hear it. Clearly I want to hear it to get the context for the next part. Clearly can do an easy workaround by duplicating tracks and comping / joining when all done but it's a bit annoying and also good to learn if something is wrong. I have only recently got back into to working with Logic after about 18 month break so just can't remember if it's supposed to be like this or not? Thanks for any help
triplets
When a track region goes grey it means it's getting muted. What key are you hitting for the punch in?
Thedukewood
Thank you I am hitting r - I have changed record setting to merge ( for midi ) and that seems to have solved it. Although any other comments / suggestions useful thanks
David Nahmani
I have changed record setting to merge ( for midi ) What was it set to before you changed it?
Thedukewood
Thanks to be honest I can't remember .. but theoretically should be at default as I hadn't changed since recent upgrade
David Nahmani
The default is merge. The behavior you describe is the expected behavior for some of the other settings.
