pstewartdrum
Hey everyone, I just got a new MacBook Air M1 and a Focusrite Scalrett 2i2 3rd gen and Logic crashes ( sometimes the whole computer crashes) after between a couple of minutes of just having Logic running with the Scarlett plugged in. I'm running the latest Logic update 10.6 and Mac OS Big Sur is up to date as well as the Focusrite software. Any ideas? thanks, Phil
fusbur
Hi Have you got v3.7.2 of Focusrite Control installed? It's here if you don't https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360017407320-Focusrite-product-compatibility-with-macOS-11-Big-Sur-on-Apple-Silicon-based-systems
fusbur
Also, any 3rd party plug-ins?
pstewartdrum
ya I had 3.7.2 of Focusrite control installed and no 3rd party plug ins. I tried unplugging everything but the Scarlett to the usb hub(the power cord is plugged into the hub too) and now it's not crashing , been running for 12 hours. So it must be some kind of conflict when other usb stuff is plugged in, it's not a powered hub either.I guess I'll start plugging stuff in and see what crashes it. fusbur
I use a hub too with no issues, but I have my 2i2 connected directly to the Mac.
enossified
I'm with fusbur, don't use the hub with your interface. Many manufacturers even mention this in their manuals.
