Moving Logic Folder from internal HD to external HD

Hey everyone,

I currently run/store all my Logic projects on a folder located on my Mac's internal drive. The path looks something like this:

/Users/biglsworks/Music/Logic .... all projects are there.

I am planning to move everything to an external hard drive.

What is the correct procedure to do the transfer ?

Is it as simple as moving/copying the files from the internal drive onto the external drive, and then specifying into Logic Settings where it should operate/save the files from (once the transfer is done)?

Thanks for your input and suggestions,

-Larry.

Hi Larry,

I would recommend that first you double-check the integrity of your projects. Here's how to do that: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=155360&p=813980#p813980

Then once you have folders that are self-contained projects, you can simply move them from one drive to another. Once the transfer is done, there are no settings to update, nothing to "tell Logic", it will automatically go on saving any new imported or recorded audio files into the project folder at the new location where you just moved it to.
