omar17166
Hi! Is anyone here using KorgNanoKontroller 2 in Logic? I am not interested in using it as a control surface. Only to use the sliders to send CC messages. The documentation explains how to do it in all other DAWs, but for Logic it directs one to install an app/plugin (which once installed I cannot find it anyway)... In any case it seems to be for using the controller as a control surface! Bad documentation that seems to be translated from Japanese!! I am only interested in simply setting it to send specific CC's .. I downloaded the Korg Control editor which seems to work changing CC values for various sliders. But it does not work in Logic, so I am afraid I am in the wrong mode (surface control) .. Thanks for any help ...
robinloops
Installing it is so you can use it as a control surface. You need to remove it as a control surface. Then put it in generic midi mode (of it has modes). Then set it up manually. Look for how to set up generic midi controller in logic as this is not specific to particular devices. Might look into smart controls (logic thing) too to see if that might work better for your needs.

Apparently logic defines it as a control surface automatically! Regards ..
robinloops
Good to hear! You can disable automatic installation of control surfaces if you have further issues with it trying to install it when you restart.

Now I turned Auto off in the preferences.
Zipfunk
I have one and I use it to control cc data and faders etc. works great. There’s a video on YouTube showing you how one guy made sure to not select auto installation (I believe that was mentioned above) That was the key to having it work right out of the box. I do use the Korg software to assign midi channels to it but I use logic’s controller assignments to assign all other stuff. Both work well together and I’ve not had any conflicts.
