Previous issues:

Ok to recap what happened prior to this issue: I was first noticing Logic Pro X crashes due to Xfer Serum. I had been noticing high cpu usage of two specific threads, the left and right hand most threads, (I have 8) which lead to system/disk space overload. I am using seven Xfer Serum tracks, and I know Serum hits CPU high. The Quality I am using is 2x, I tried 1x Draft mode, but that made things worse. When I put it to 1x Draft mode one of the Serum tracks just started to produce a loud hissing sound on my headphones. I noticed that there was one thread that was going up to 100%, I put it back to 2x and it was fine for a bit. I am using wavetables so maybe that has something to do with it not working in 1x Draft mode? Or maybe because I recorded in 2x and then put it down to 1x didn't end well. I am not sure. There were eventual crashes where I couldn't open that specific project at all, it said the same thing over and over again, that there was a system overload due to Serum, and that these diagnostics would be sent to Apple. I tried restarting my computer and everything but that didn't seem to work. I even shut my computer down and turned it back on, and that didn't allow me to open the project. What I did was I updated Serum to the latest version. This helped me open the project at least but now I am having another updated issue, not a Serum specific issue anymore.

New issue:

I have been having trouble with this specific project not producing any audio output, there is audio input happening but no audio output on any given track. This is for both MIDI and audio tracks. I checked other projects out and they are fine, there is input/output audio being produced. I checked to see if other things weren't working, the Built in Speakers themselves weren't producing any audio output either. I also checked other audio sources like YouTube and they worked fine to produce sound on both my audio interface and built in speakers. So the speakers/ headphones/ monitors themselves are fine. I also restarted my computer and that didn't fix the issue. I use headphones, and monitors, and all cabling is fine.

Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately my MacBook is a 13in so it is hard to get the entire mixer in one screenshot. Should I send you multiple screenshots in the zip folder showing all of the channels working or just one that shows some of them working? I assume you also want to see the Output channel as well. So one screenshot showing some of the channels working in relation to the Output channel? I remember that pictures take up a lot of data or space on this website as you mentioned in one of my earlier posts.

Ah I figured it out. I had my stereo output muted *facepalm.* How do I prevent system overload though? I have tried to close all other applications and use an external hard drive with my projects. It says on the Apple Website that APFS or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format are recommended for the hard drive. Mine is under ExFAT, is this ok?

No, you absolutely need your disk to be in APFS or MacOS Extended (Journaled). Regarding your system overload issue, please do start a new topic for it and we'll help you there. I have marked this thread as solved, happy to hear you found the source of your project not outputting any audio! :)
