SpacePuppy
Hi there, I'm not having any luck connecting a Boss RC-5 to Logic Pro. I'm using either a Focusrite 18i-8 or 18i-20, with a Boss brand midi cable. No luck. Ideally I'd like the ability to either control the tempo from within Logic and have the pedal sync to it, or set the tempo on the pedal and have Logic sync to it. Either scenario will do. Thanks
David Nahmani
What is the Boss MIDI cable connected to exactly? A USB-MIDI Interface? Can you see the interface in Audio MIDI Setup on your Mac?
SpacePuppy
Hi David, Midi cable is connected to Midi out on the 18i8 and Midi in on the RC-5. Yes, the 18i8 is recognized in the 'Audio Midi Setup' screen and I'm able to record fine in Logic. I would expect to see the midi light come on on the front of the 18i8 but it doesn't. Sync Clock is set to 'auto' per the manual.
Solution SpacePuppy Posted April 13, 2021 Author Solution Share Posted April 13, 2021 Hi David, I think I got it to work - I switched over to my 18i20, and had to change some settings in 'Project Settings' > 'Synchronization' > 'Midi', I had to select the 18i20 as the destination and then check 'clock'. The RC-5 now seems to be responding to the tempo changes in Logic.
