WEIRD DISTORTION on my AUDIO BOOK. TAKES?

Recording audiobooks but I think a weird distortion has started appearing on the vocal takes?

 

Could you please listen and tell me what you think could be wrong?

Just make sure you don't peak your interface when recording.

How much are you peaking on the audio track without any plugins?

Nope, interface not peaking and on the channel it's about -13 without plugins.

Maybe I've cracked my headphones?

 

I tries listening through my speakers and thought I heard the same thing but if none of you heard it, I think I'm good.

 

The publisher has approved the sound quality several times so I should be ok.

You're welcome and yes, true: there definitely isn't any distortion in the recording, but that doesn't mean you're not hearing some distortion on your playback device. I would try different playback devices, if you can.
