dhub
I've been trying for several days to figure out how to automate a "Select Next Track" command. I use backing tracks in Logic for live performance while playing various softsynths scrolling thru the tracks. Currently I use a Launchpad mini that is programmed to send a CC29 that is used to trigger the "Next Track" command. but it is getting to be difficult when i need to change other hard synths etc. at the same time. i would love to be able to have the next track commands automated in the backing track. Any help is greatly appreciated. If you have a solution please explain in detail. Thanks
David Nahmani
Yes, you can route a track to an IAC bus, send some data such as a MIDI CC event and learn it to be "Select Next Track". Here I've placed a CC#15 (value = 32) event in the regions on the IAC track:
fuzzfilth
Beware that you need to wake up a newly selected track with a silent command like sustain pedal or mod wheel jiggle, else the first note will be invariably late.

Easy enough to fix:
fuzzfilth
Yes. But needs to be done.
David Nahmani
Yes. But needs to be done. Right. For precision sake, in my last capture, what I did was insert a CC#16 event a few ticks after the CC#15 in order to R-enable the track automatically a few ticks after it's selected.
