TheRdungeon
I have a 16" one of these on the way and love the idea of the automatic voltage adjustment for high-impedance headphones https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212856 , but I have AKG K712s and despite being under the switchover point of 150ohms (they are 62ohms) they are very hard to drive, such that they actually play back quieter on these new machines than my previous macbook pro (tested with a friend's 14"). Ideally what I would like to do is switch the voltage manually, or find a way to trick the headphone out into supplying higher voltage. Has anyone seen this done or know if it's possible? Thanks a lot
speakerfood
I know its not the solution you are asking for, but I've been using an AudioQuest DragonFly for headphones. Also has a way better converter than the standard Apple one. Might be of interest for you.

Cheers, definitely more streamlined than the apogee duet I'm currently using, might try one out
