Pianoworldstage
Hi I'm looking to perform a new installation of Logic on a MacBook Pro, I'm currently running version 10.6.3. after purchasing Logic from the App Store I'm not sure how to just reinstall the programme without having to once again install the sound library, is the possible? all projects have been backed up, Thanks. des99
If you want the sound library on the new Mac, then you've either got to redownload it (easiest), or you'll have to copy it from your first Mac, which could be a pain (it's not straightforward, there's different content in multiple places). It really depends how constricted your internet is. It's far easier to set it downloading before you go to bed and wake up and it's all there working. Pianoworldstage
No I think you missed the point, it's not for a new Mac, but the same Mac, and i already have Logics complete sound library downloaded, my question was I'm only looking to re-install Logics programme, therefore how would I go about doing that? des99
The "new installation" was the thing that made me think you were talking about installing it on a new machine, as you're already running Logic on your current machine. It seems what you want to do is update your current version of Logic. In that case, just download it from the AppStore, and you'll get the latest version of the application your system can support - it just updates the application in your Applications folder. The content stays as it is on your machine, the content isn't downloaded from the AppStore anyway, and you don't need to redownload it. Pianoworldstage
Thank you, that was much more straight forward, however it seems there maybe a slight issue in compatibility? As Logic 10.6.3 is the only version OS Catalina (which I'm running on) can use, and that Logic 10.7 would not be compatible unless upgrading to OS Big Sur? All that said i see Apple have now released their latest OS Monterey, so will installing Big Sur to get to Logic 10.7 still be possible? des99
Correct, to go to Logic 10.7, you will need to be running Big Sur or later.
