Mainstage is louder than Logic?

Recommended Posts

I created same stock piano sampler on Logic and Mainstage without signal processors. Mainstage internal piano channel is clipping but Logic is (with relatively same velocity) around -3dbfs.

Is that normal?

I'm looking directly sampler channel not master or any other send.

-3dB difference sounds like Mono tracks vs Stereo. Is it?

(with relatively same velocity)

"relatively" sounds problematic. Why not do it absolutely? Full velocity should do the job.

I'm getting exactly the same readings. Be sure to reset the meters before each attempt.

Are you using a different sample rate?

There is an issue with Logic in that the Amp sims output different volume levels based on what sample rate you're using. Is it possible that is what is happening?
