Leeamcha
Hi, Logic Pro seems to have lost the completed version of a project. I can see the mastered version (which is just the one line) and I have the completed .wav file that was created at the same time but the .logicx file has lost most of the different instruments / components and is an incomplete work. Apologies if I'm not describing this very well - it's actually my teen son's A Level coursework project and I don't use Logic! If we click on the 'revert to' there are various options but none of them show the completed project. This is happening whether we use the backed up file on an external hard drive or whether it's from our online back-up (we have both idrive and backblaze) or the version on iCloud. We don't have time machine set up on his laptop unfortunately (we will do going forward!!) Any ideas?? Also,I can see something called the 'project file' for the item in question on a data recovery system but can't load this into logicx as it says it isn't the correct format. I can see the metadata.plist too and can access all the text on that. I can't see how to recreate the whole file though. I'm thinking maybe some of the instruments have been corrupted and can't load into the completed logicx file and perhaps I could identify the missing ones from the meta data? Any thoughts appreciated! Edit: I'm beginning to believe this issue is something that happened when transferring files from MacBook to external hard drive and then back. Would that be right? If that's all you can see, rather than the .logicx container, then the project has lost it's package status and is probably corrupt - have you saved this project onto a non-Apple file system? Edit: I'm beginning to believe this issue is something that happened when transferring files from MacBook to external hard drive and then back. Would that be right? Ah yes. Do not use PC formats for drives with Apple hardware. Likely your external drive is formatted as ExFAT or something, rather than an Apple format - this means that you are potentially corrupting files when writing to these formats.
