xenochaosxc
Is there a key command that replicates the behavior of the Shuffle L/R drag mode when using the mouse? It shuffles when I Cut a section, but I can't get a Shuffle when I go to Paste.
Atlas007
Yes, according to the documentation, to remove gaps between regions. Default US kc: Shuffle Left: Option-Left Bracket ([) Shuffle Right: Option-Right Bracket (])
xenochaosxc
Thank you for responding. I'm trying to utilize that command but unless there are gaps it doesn't seem to have any effect. In my case there are no gaps between the regions, and I'm just trying to reorder them on the timeline via key command instead of by mouse dragging. I get the desired behavior only when using the mouse + shuffle (drag).
Atlas007
Ok, I’ll give that a try when I get to the studio. BTW, which (precise) Logic version are you actually using?
xenochaosxc
I'm on 10.7.3. Just to explain a little further, I get the shuffle R/L behavior when I cut regions, but pasting regions only replaces, overlaps, or fills in an empty area. Whereas the shuffle drag feature will allow for regions to be sort of slipped between other regions, this behavior doesn't seem to be there for key commands (unless I'm overlooking something). Atlas007
Perhaps you mean insert instead?
xenochaosxc
I've tried that a bit, but it doesn't work as expected. Perhaps because that command is designed and/or designated for audio or global edits. I will try it again though
xenochaosxc
The insert command works as desired as long as I have global tracks locked. That solves my problem, but does raise another question... is there a Global Lock/Unlock key command?

David Nahmani
The insert command works as desired as long as I have global tracks locked. That solves my problem, but does raise another question... is there a Global Lock/Unlock key command? If you mean the protect buttons, then no, there's only one key command to protect the currently selected track.
