Lorraine
Hi! Last night I thought I recorded three takes of something the way I usually do (although I'm quite new at Logic). But instead of being labelled 'Take 1' etc. and being attached to each other, they seem to be three separate tracks. But what's weird is that when I try and solo or mute any one of them, it solos or mutes the other two as well. Nothing seems to separate them. It's either all three solo/not solo'd or all three mute/unmuted. Any ideas? Thanks
des99
It sounds like you have three tracks all assigned to the same channel strip. Mutes and solos affect the channel strip, resulting in the behaviour you see.
fuzzfilth
I recorded ... three separate tracks. How do you want them to behave ? As three Takes in a Take Folder or as three independent Tracks ?
polanoid
Are you recording MIDI or audio? AFAIK there is no "Overlapping Recording" mode that creates new tracks with the same channel strip for overlapping *Audio* regions, so this would be weird. If it's MIDI, you probably switched Record -> Overlapping MIDI Recordings to "Cycle Off -> Create Track" and/or "Cycle On -> Create Tracks". You need to switch those back to "Create Take Folder" if you want the old behaviour back

I'm very puzzled by it because in the same recording session, and without changing anything in the Recording setting in Preferences, I seemed to be able to create a Take folder for another track without any problem. I fully accept this is user error on my part somehow, though.
Solution fuzzfilth Posted March 23, 2022 Solution Share Posted March 23, 2022 I would like them to behave like three Takes in a folder. Select the three Regions, Ctrl-Click one of them, Folder>Pack Take Folder
