kurtminus
Hello, Im building a drum track using the drum kit designer and step sequencer. Im trying to build a track like I’d play it on a real kit. It’s really close! One thing I can’t figure out is how to do a “double time” fill. I tried adjusting the “rate” setting in the step sequencer for my snare, as well as the “repeat” setting but neither had the desired effect. Is this possible with the step sequencer? The only workaround I can think of would be to make a new pattern region for just that one part, set it to /32 or something and program it that way. Is there a simpler way? Thanks!! whitfield
Hey Kurt, I'm not totally sure I understand what you mean by "double time" here, but my guess is that you're trying to wedge extra beats into parts your 16-step sequence, creating notes "between" the normal notes. If that's the case then I believe Note Repeat is your only option — it will allow you to add as many of that note as you want during that beat (up to 16). Granted, you can't create nuance *inside* those notes, they will all play at the same velocity. But you *can* offset them so that they start "inside" the beat, if that's helpful. Does this relate to your goal?

Does this relate to your goal? I tried that for sure but couldn’t quite get the desired effect. However I did find an easy workaround by splitting my pattern region where I want the fill to be and changing the signature of the part to like 32T or whatever it is. Problem solved!!
