Jochem
Hello there! I was about to start lesson 9 and opened the Darude Moments file. However, I have a feeling that my Logic did something to the drums specifically. They sound so off beat to me, but since it’s a major record I’m going crazy thinking that it’s just my interpretation? Could somebody please let me know if it’s my interpretation? And if it’s not, how can I make sure that my logic loads the project properly and in sync? Please see the audio file from the link below that I recorded with my phone. https://sndup.net/btty/ 0:00 to 0:15 = Just the drums (already sounds bad to me) 0:15 to 0:32 = Drums with all the other tracks (sounds very bad to me) 0:32 to 0:55 = All the other tracks no drums (sounds fine to me) 0:55 to end = Drums with all other tracks + metronome (sounds like hell to me) Project screenshot: Thanks in advance! Solution David Nahmani Posted March 27, 2022 Solution Share Posted March 27, 2022 Yes indeed something is off. Two things: 1. If you feel like the Logic project has been tempered with at some point, then download it again from your Peachpit account. 2. Make sure you're running a default Logic Pro setup with default preferences like it's detailed in the Getting Started section of the book. You can also choose Logic Pro > Preferences > Reset All Preferences Except Key Commands. Let us know if that works?
Jochem
Thank you so much for the reply! It worked, here is what I did. 1: I deleted all files I downloaded from Peachpit 2: I downloaded the Darude Moments file again 3: It still sounded off beat, exactly the same as the recording I shared 4: I chose Logic Pro x > preferences > Reset all preferences except key commands 5: I checked if Advanced tools where still enabled (they where) 6: I opened the Darude Moments file again 7: Logic showed the “what’s new in Logic 10.7” again, as well asked to download new sounds, but when I clicked download I already had everything installed. So didn’t download anything extra 8: I clicked play and it sounded perfect! So it seems that everything is fine again. I don’t know what I changed in preferences especially since I’ve only followed the book. I probably miss clicked some key commands and changed something! Thanks again!! David Nahmani
Great! Good to hear. I'm guessing this has something to do with a plug-in delay compensation preference that was turned off. In any case, at least now you're back on track.
