Is there a bug with 10.7.3 with this feature?

I cant seem to move my playhead forward or rewind by transient within an audio region.

I was always able to do it before. I have setup my own key command which is CTRL Right and Left Arrow.

I tried deleting the K-commands and doing it again. No luck.

Any joy?

Same thing here... :(

The key-commands to move the playhead to next or previous transient (default US: Option+right arrow or Option + Left arrow) or reassigned to new key-commands or the Audio File local Edit menu (Go To: next or previous transient) remain unresponsive (playhead won't move).

OTOH, the Rewind / Forward by transient key-commands, which pretty do the same thing (moves the playhead to the previous/next transient) work as expected. Little drawback, it will work only when the key focus is on the main track area or in the audio track editor window/pane.

That represents however a tedious and wonky workaround if one needs to do lots of edition in many spots of the audio file...

At the top, in your screen capture (named "Rewind / Forward by transient") are the KCs that work, providing that the key focus is set on the main track area or in the audio track editor window/pane. when issuing them.

Those at the bottom (named "Go To: next or previous transient", in your screen capture) are the ones that don't work (regardless of their assigned KC, btw).

As mentioned (in my previous post and in the KC assignment window section) those ("Go To: next or previous transient") are meant to work only when key focus is in the Audio File editor.

BTW, I noticed in your screen capture that you have many conflicting key commands assignments. I wouldn't be surprised that would cause Logic to malfunction or act weird eventually,

Thanks Atlas,. as it happens in my setup ""Rewind / Forward by transient" (Top SCREEN) are the ones that DON"T work as well as the Bottom ones.....Total fail.

As for conflicts, I've looked and the conflicts are actually between my keyboard key strokes and the MacBook Pro Touch Bar. (Which I don't use)

Def not working here!!

Try using the default key command set, since that's what differs on your system and mine. You can first export your own key commands should you want to use them again after testing this.

1. Choose Logic Pro > Key Commands > Presets > U.S.

2. When prompted, save your key commands.

3. Try again, this time using Control-. (period) and Control-, (coma).

@David:

How about those key-commands (or the command) in the Audio File editor local Edit menu (Go To: next or previous transient), do they work for you?

No, they don't seem to be doing anything?

So they don't work on your side either...

BTW, have you tested them on both of your system (BigSur and Monterey)?

Thanks David and Atlas. I finally figured it out!

There was a conflict in my Logic Key Commands and the OS Mission Control (I Never use that at all!!).....My transient REW/FWD commands were the same as mission controls "Move Left/Right SPACE". I deleted the Mission Control shortcuts and BAZANGO!!!! Logic works again!.....It must've happened when upgrading or something.

Wait a mn, those key commands work just fine, you just have to be in Transient editing mode. ;)

Thanx David for that clarification!

Indeed, the Go To command from the Audio File editor local Edit menu becomes operational when switching onto the Transient Edit Mode.

However instead of bringing the playhead to that next/previous transient, the command moves the editor view to show that transient and highlight same but only if the view can be moved to show that transient in the middle of the view. Otherwise, nothing happen.

I find that a little disconcerting that pretty much everywhere else in Logic, when a Go To named command is used, it involves the playhead's movement. Also, it would be ergonomically preferable to uniformly fade out menu's commands that aren't contextually usable; which isn't the case here...

I wonder if it exists a properly elaborated description of which key command does what exactly?

Well I managed to get it to work again. The Playhead MOVES to the transient.

It does so here as well if I use the Forward and Rewind by Transient key commands (in the condition I described in one of my previous post).

But the playhead won't move if I use the Go To command from the Audi File editor local Edit menu.

In your case, have you tried the Go To command from the Audi File editor local Edit menu?

IOW, does the playhead moves to the transient when using the Go To command from the Audi File editor local Edit menu?
