voodoovince
Hey all, sorry for being a total noob, but I'm not able to connect my new AKAI MPK249 properly to Logic Pro X 10.7.. Found a bunch of tutorials, also on the official AKAI site, but they seem to refer to some kind of previous version of Logic, cause the menus they show are quite different from the current ones in 10.7... Key section works like a charm, but all the transporter/ DAW related knobs and fader dont do nothing at all... quite frustrating, since I dont want to map all the stuff manually (and I'm not able to do this, to be honest), and the MPK even offers a Logic Preset in the menu. I tried to connect the MPK with Presonus Studio One, and everything works perfect, so its clearly a configuration problem with Logic Pro. Is there a tutorial/ hint you people can help me with? Would be so great, cause otherwise I'd ditch Logic Pro, cause I really need the controls for a proper workflow... Thank you so much in advance, Vince
des99
What does the manual suggest you do to set it up in Logic? Logic hasn't changed much in this regard, so while the screens may look different if this is an old product and has screenshots from, say, Logic 9, but the principles should be sound... enossified
If you do a search there are many posts from MPK users having problems with their initial setup. Perhaps you can find a solution there or one of those users may chip in here.

voodoovince
The problem is, the unit is not shown anywhere in the Midi Preferences Menu... only the Inputs are listed, unit itself was not picked up by Logic..

MPK49.jpg Unfortunately the MPK is not listed in the Controller Menu, no matter what I do.. Some people solved the issues by connecting the MPK via a powered USB-Hub, so I‘m going to try this also.. Dupont
Did you see the controler value change near the transport bar when you move a controler on your MPK ? Can you manually assign a parameter to a controler ? Have you tried with another DAW ? Another computer to understand if it is an hardware or soft issue ? Have you tried with another DAW ? Another computer to understand if it is an hardware or soft issue ? I tried it with Presonus Studio One 5, works flawless with the embedded preset in the unit.. When I change everything in the Project Sync Settings manually, it works, but its gone when I close the project, Logic wont let me save the cofiguration. Its quite annoying, to be honest...

I tried to connect the Akai to my old MacBook Pro, running on Mojave and Logic Pro 10.4., and the unit shows up in the Menu.. so its a MacOS/ Logic-Issue without a doubt. Which sucks pretty much, cause only Apple can fix this with updates...
