ChoPraTs
Hello! One of the few things that bugs me about Logic Pro is that seems impossible to view two or more sets of markers simultaneously. It would be very useful to be able to see at a glance the structure, the chords, the lyrics of a song, etc. with markers. Unfortunately I think Logic Pro X can only display a single list of markers. So I was thinking that a solution could be to have a keyboard shortcut where we can switch the display from one set of markers to another with a simple button. But unfortunately I can't find a way to program such a button either. Do you know any? So a second option I was considering was to use the different Screensets to configure one to show one set of markers and another view to show another set. But it doesn't work either! The marker's set selected seems not to change when changing between Screensets. So I am wondering if you have come up with a third option to be able to make this change quickly, without having to scroll through the drop-down menu each time we want to see one set or another. The last thing I will try is to program something like that with the help of the app Keyboard Maestro, but I don't know if I'll be able to do it. Any other ideas? Thank you! des99
Logic can only show one active set of markers at once (although you can have both arrangement markers, and regular markers displayed at once) Maybe instead consider using coloured/named regions in No Output tracks at the top of your arrange window to convey the extra information you'd like to see, and leave one set of markers doing it's most useful job for structure/section identification and navigating, perhaps? Then you can have as many tracks as you wish, can show/hide them, change their vertical size and colour to taste? You would be able to switch marker sets with Keyboard Maestro, but you'd still only be able to see one set at a time, so I'm not sure how much that helps..? ChoPraTs
Thanks for the reply des99. Yes, my proposed solution doesn't help very much because I still can't see two sets at a time, but if at least I could change from one to the other with a shortcut, it would be better. I hadn't thought about creating a track to use for this, but I don't think it would be useful either. I work on orchestral projects with more than 150 tracks, and unless there is a way to make a track always stay on top, no matter how little I scroll vertically to work with lower tracks, I lose the view of the top track. This is not the case when using global tracks as they are always visible at the top of the window, regardless of which tracks I am working on. I have tried the option to create something with Keyboard Maestro (with image recognition) and it works, but it is somewhat annoying since it moves the mouse position to change from one set of markers to another. I haven't found another way to do it nor to get the mouse pointer back to its position before launching the shortcut.
David Nahmani
I looked for a solution but could not find one. Even if you open multiple marker list and the global tracks, if you switch one of them to a marker set they all switch. So they all display the same marker set, always. What about des99's suggestion to use the Arrangement markers though? I know that's still only 2 tracks, but better than nothing?
ChoPraTs
Thanks for the reply David. Well, I think I can’t move through the arrangement parts as easy as I can with markers, because with shortcuts or control surfaces buttons I can navigate through markers. So maybe I should use the Arrangement global track to notate the chords there and still using the markers for musical structure. Maybe it can work. What do you think? But I would like to know if there is a way that the music and passages don’t move when moving the “parts” of the Arrangement, because they are linked. Can I delink the two things and use the Arrangement line as another markers set without differences? Is there also a way to “lock” an instrument or audio track to make possible that it remains always visible on the top of the arrangement window and doesn’t disappear when scrolling down through the project? Thank you!

Yes: click the Arrangement label on the Arrangement global track header and choose Suspend Content Connection. Is there also a way to “lock” an instrument or audio track to make possible that it remains always visible on the top of the arrangement window and doesn’t disappear when scrolling down through the project? No, unfortunately that's not possible.
