JMH
Hi there. I'm setting up a second studio and looking to clone my mac pro rig so both studio computers are identical and can open sessions on both rigs. I've been reaching out to colleagues and getting a difference of opinion on the cloning process. Some are saying I can clone all my samples data drives using super duper etc, but for the main macintosh HD I should do fresh installs of all of the sample libraries manually. Others are saying I can do a clone of the macintosh HD as well, and assuming the file directories are all the same and the hardware is the same on both rigs, the sample libraries should all open correctly. Anyone have any insight on this? Obviously the clone option for Mac HD would be simpler, but seem like manual reinstalls would be safer? Thanks. fuzzfilth
If the hardware is identical, you can clone wirhout any side effects. In either case you will be asked to authorize any plugins that are locally authorized, i.e. not on an ilok dongle.
