apricotandpearjam
hi all. since updating to 10.7.3 i’ve been getting so many crashes with various plugins. it seems that the plugin manufacturers are saying that logic has a bug with CMDAudioUnit::SetControlValue(short, long, EventSource) on an unknown audio unit. I’ve tried removing all my component files and adding them back in one by one but there is still issues even when switching between alternatives or just opening a session. logic can hang for a long time as non responsive and i have to force quit. i’ve tried reinstalling logic fully, macOS again and deleted the audio units cache. i’ve tried etrecheck and onyx and still getting issues. i’m on a M1 max macbook pro. would it help if i posted a couple of the crash reports or is anyone else getting issues too? polanoid
Could you attach a crash log?
apricotandpearjam
sure. here are two. logic crashes.zip
polanoid
Looks like this happens only under Rosetta on M1 machines?
apricotandpearjam
you can tell that from the crash logs?
polanoid
you can tell that from the crash logs? Yes. At least if I'm not wrong, just look for the lines "translated" : true, "cpuType" : "X86-64", in the log, which mean that it's Intel code being translated (by Rosetta)
apricotandpearjam
thanks for that. is that a logic thing or a plug-in issue?
polanoid
That's in the Logic code
apricotandpearjam
aha. so if i report this to apple what exactly should i say so it’s super clear?
polanoid
aha. so if i report this to apple what exactly should i say so it’s super clear? In this case the crash log itself says all, I guess
apricotandpearjam
that’s great, thankyou. here are a few more… just wondering if you could tell me if you notice a pattern or a finger pointing to a particular issue or plugin? logic crashes.zip
polanoid
that’s great, thankyou. here are a few more… just wondering if you could tell me if you notice a pattern or a finger pointing to a particular issue or plugin? To me this seems like a pure Logic crash, not related to a specific plug-in. Also, the crash is always the at the same place, so one of those crash logs is definitely enough
apricotandpearjam
that’s really good to know. thanks again so much! do you think running in non rosetta mode would help?
polanoid
I would at least give it a try Sorry can't check that myself as I'm still on Intel
