jamiesalisbury
I have a problem that's driving me crazy - when I record midi, Logic extends the blank region backwards by a seemingly random length. For example, in the attached screenshot, I started recording from b.122, but when I finish the region extends all the way back to bar 28 - all empty. It doesn't seem to coincide with e.g cycle locators etc. as far as I can tell. Feel like I've ticked the wrong button somewhere, can someone help please, so I don't need to edit the region after every single take?! Thanks. Atlas007
To ascertain there is nothing before bar 122, did you inspect the content of that region via the Event List editor?
jamiesalisbury
Thanks - I checked and there's a rogue sustain pedal event at the beginning of the region. I checked a few similar regions and the same thing keeps happening - Logic puts in a rogue sustain pedal event well before the point I'm recording from. It's very strange. David Nahmani
Remove the sustain event and see if normal behavior resumes?
jamiesalisbury
I've deleted the regions many times and it was still doing the same thing. HOWEVER, today it's not doing it! I have no idea why. I'll keep experimenting and look out for those sustain events. Thanks for the help - I may be back if necessary!
David Nahmani
I've deleted the regions many times and it was still doing the same thing. What I would try is to delete the event, not the region. In any case good to hear it's not doing it now but let us know if it comes back. You're not the only one to suffer from this behavior, it's been reported here many times.
