rundaddy
always arms can't stop it- drives me nuts- only when recording midi==see Crimson Tweed even though I keep clearing it it returns to this status-when I hit record for the piano-crimson records too- which just erased a kick a$$ solo Edited May 1, 2022 by rundaddy details
triplets
I think selected audio tracks go into record by default when you hit record, even though they're not armed. So don't select it if you don't wanna record on it.
rundaddy
Hi and thank you for replying…..it’s not the audio being selected….by me…. It keeps arming itself, I turn it off, it turns back on, etc…
triplets
You're saying you select the midi track with the mouse, press record and the audio track selects itself?
rundaddy
Yes, if you look at the screenshot you’ll see the crimson track already is partially armed I click record and it light up and records
mattrixx
It looks to me that Crimson track is selected and record primed. Make sure that you have the piano midi track "selected".
rundaddy
Thank you for the help I appreciate it the midi track is selected and will record it’s the audio tracks that are auto arming and I can’t stop it even if I don’t select it purposely make sure that I clicked it to the off position

However, the guitar track is selected and will always go into record if it has a valid input.
polanoid
Quote which just erased a kick a$$ solo No it didn't. Audio Recording never "erases" anything

In your screenshot, a MIDI region is selected, and an Audio track. You need to select a MIDI track to stop the Audio Track from automatically arming upon record start

To select Track 2 instead (the one that is R-armed) you need to click the track header, and it will get that lighter shade of gray. Then press Record, the audio track will no longer record.
