keano12
Hi guys, In Cubase I was able to highlight part of my audio file and make silent. Can I do the same in Logic? Thanks
keano12
Ah figured it out I have to go to file not Track and highlight and control+Delete

For non-destructive editing: In the Tracks area, use the Marquee tool to select a section. Press Control-M to mute the selection.

I didn't know I could do it that way.

Just adding some nitpicking here: I wouldn’t call that destructive, at least not more destructive than what you propose, as you can easily get the deleted part back

Nondestructive editing means that only a region that refers to the audio file is edited, while the audio file itself is left unchanged.

That's what I meant to say - the data inside the audio file is NOT changed when you delete a part of a region in the Tracks area (via Marquee or any other way). So what keano12 proposed is definitely nondestructive.

I was answering the solution I quoted where he was suggesting going to the "File" editor (Audio File editor) and silencing (Control-delete) a part, which is destructive.
