am working on a mix, and want a big whooshy phase shifter on a guitar part. my brother used to have an MXR phase shifter pedal... that thing sounded so good.

i have audiothing's 'phase motion'... which i've used often. but this (and logic's own phase shifter) are too clean. any suggestions, or tricks?

Which is what I would have suggested if only you were still taking advice after just 51 minutes.

i was going to wait 52 minutes, then i thought 'nah, fuzzfilth & david don't know about this sort of thing'. how wrong i was (wrong; yes, there's a first time for everything)...

my brother had a rhodes electric piano, hooked up to an mxr phase shifter pedal, plugged into an 'acoustic' amp.. with a high frequency horn at (!) ear level.

he'd turn the treble up on the piano, and on the amp... then hit the brightness switch on the amp. that rhodes sound could cut thru anything, and that phasey hiss sound was amazing (especially when he wasn't playing the rhodes).

if i'd smoked weed as a kid 🤪, i would have sat in front of that amp and just listened to the phasing hiss (which i did, in fact, do).

viva noise!
