When I create a new Instrument track (definitely NOT an audio track) in Logic Pro X there is no Instrument slot.

Hi @jimrobson183 , did you end up figuring this one out? If not, feel free to attach a copy of your project here as des99 suggested, or we can try other things. Let us know, thanks!

I wonder why it says "Inst 1-2" on the top of your channel strip. What would that even mean?

Good catch! So there used to a be a setting in Logic Pro to toggle off: "Universal Track Mode", to make it compatible with older Pro Tools project which handled stereo channels as two mono channel strips. It sounds like that is the culprit here, however I'm not sure if that setting still exist or not in Logic Pro. But I would think that's the culprit as one channel strip has the instrument and the other doesn't (so that you have one stereo instrument on two mono channel strips).

I would try to create a new empty project and see if the problem is the same? Or is it only in this specific project?
