It's surprising how much time we tend to waste trying to point at things with mice, trackpads or other input devices when some of the functionalities are available right under our fingertips. That, and considering that some of Logic functions (many actually) are available only via key commands…
zestyOrange
I keep a running list in Notes, which might make for some interesting perusing: It includes: Shortcuts I've recently discovered (i.e. ones I can see myself using frequently enough to warrant learning) Shortcuts 'I know' (i.e. just the ones from the 'Recently Discovered' list that I've now assimilated into daily use. I use plenty of others besides these) Shortcuts I've added (for example, using [ and ] to change the grid size in Piano Roll is something I use daily and almost couldn't live without) (Edit: About 11 shortcuts down on the first image it should say 'forced legato') Edited January 3 by zestyOrange Typo

I am also impressed with your organised way of documenting your valuable lessons learnt (which is in “Notes”; and it happens to be my favourite software for such purposes !). Very keen to hear one of your sample works. I will do a search in respective folder too.

Thanks kindly, Shahram. To be honest it's my 'swiss-cheese' brain that necessitates all the note-taking :) I suffer from pretty bad brain fog and have done for a decade now; if it's not written down, I'll likely just forget it. Yes, I am a huge Notes convert! I often screenshot things, drag them into Notes and annotate them, which is incredibly useful (see attached for example). My top-tip, just in case you're not aware, is that if you drag an image into Notes and annotate it there, it remains fully editable, so you can add/amend it at a later date (which doesn't happen if you annotate it outside of Notes). Very cool tip. I didn't even know you could markup images right there in the Notes area! 😃

Also, adding photos/screenshots from an iPhone → Notes is useful. They've made a ton of improvements recently (I don't think you could even nest folders when I first looked at Notes) but now it has nested folders (although it's still not obvious), it reads/searches text in images, has smart folders, allows for embedding of audio and video, freeform sketches etc. Definitely check it out if you haven't in a while. Notes was the first product from MS which impressed me immensely! No surprise that they can keep improving it as it has got sound foundation and great structure. Please send me a link to a sample of your music works when you get a chance.

More House' for me at the moment ;) It also reminds me, I added a few extras to my list the other day: 'Quick Fade-Ins/Out is - slightly less fiddly than the 'fade tool click zones' options in settings, and great if when have a whole bunch of fades to do. Selection options - really powerful (e.g. imagine you have a drum pattern and only want to select the open hihats in a particular position ... perhaps only the open hihats with a particular velocity. You can select just one of them, then use the commands to select them all). Probably not a daily-use thing for most of us, unless you use lots of articulations, but a good thing to note down for when you might need it). Find File in Finder - if you ever need to locate the original audio ,used in your project, on your hard drive (e.g. the other day I was trying to drag audio into DrumKitDesigner and Logic was not playing ball. It was easier to locate the audio in Finder, and drag it in from there). Definitely. I had to look 3 times to triple-check that I didn't include it in my original PDF. I use this all the time.

Helinka
Hi David, Just saw this cause of a thread on Key Commands. It's fabulous! Thank you. Does anyone have something like this for score editor shortcuts? cheers
zestyOrange
This reminds me: ⇧ + M: Selects all muted notes - this means you can easily delete them all in one go (works in the tracks window as well as the Piano Roll). Also try ⌥ + ⌘ + T on an audio clip to detect tempo!
