PT or Logic
Hi, why are my external Midi synths not appearing correctly in the device list in the library panel. They are setup correctly in the Mac audio midi utility and have been saved.... But in various sessions they appear incorrectly in the left-hand column. Devices are missing the right number of midi channels or they respond under the incorrect name. If I start a brand-new session everything is correct but all the older sessions appear wrong. Even if I refresh the library it is incorrect ..... is there some kind of preference that has to be deleted or something?
Atlas007
How do they show up in the Environment’s Physical Input Object?

Maybe in these projects you have already configured some instruments with these output ports selected, with different names? I would have a look at the MIDI Environment window. PT or Logic
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I never use the Midi environment so have not been messing around with it.

Even then the object may be present, so I would open the MIDI Environment, go to the MIDI Instr. layer and see what objects (if any) are there? PT or Logic
Yes there are 3 midi objects there ... do I just delete them?
David Nahmani
What are their names? Are they the names you're seeing in that project's library?
PT or Logic
Yes .... The names of 2 synths and the name of port 3 on my MT4.
Solution David Nahmani Posted June 1, 2022 Solution Share Posted June 1, 2022 3 minutes ago, PT or Logic said: Yes .... The names of 2 synths and the name of port 3 on my MT4. If your goal is for this project to not show the names of the 2 synths but instead the port 1, port 2 and port 3 from the MT4 then yes, go ahead and delete the objects. Check if that works the way you want, then save the Logic project.
PT or Logic
So is the Midi Environment universal for Midi instruments or does it just apply to each session?
